When it comes to Maryland ski resorts, there is the Wisp Resort and then there is a scattering of smaller ski areas in nearby states. The state is famous for many things and this gorgeous four-season resort is one of many reasons to drop everything and go skiing this winter.

Plenty of Space for Everyone
At Wisp Resort, they expect an average of 100 inches of snow during the Winter. There are more than 30 trails and over 130 acres available for you to explore. You will be pleased to find there are 12 lifts to take you to the top of the mountain. With all of the space at Wisp Resort, you’ll have plenty of room to maneuver around everyone else on the slopes.

Beginners are Welcome
If it’s your first time on skis, don’t worry. There are lessons available for first timers so that you can fly down the mountain with confidence. If you don’t want to learn with a group of strangers, that is not a problem. Private lessons can be arranged for just you or for you and a group of friends. You’ll learn about ski equipment, how to put it on, be briefed on the rules of ski safety and how to ski like a professional when you attend lessons at Wisp Resort.

Stay Safe with the Ski Patrol
Wisp Resort has a ski patrol that regularly makes trips down the slopes making sure that everyone is having a great time and being safe. The ski patrol is trained to take care of any emergency situation, provide assistance to stranded skiers and much more. While it’s still critical that every skier takes responsibility for safety on the slopes, there is nothing like knowing that there is someone out there looking out for you and your family as you have a great time on the mountains. This Maryland ski resort wants their guests to feel free to have fun without worry.

Relax and Unwind
If driving is not on your list of things to do, you can stay at Wisp Resort at the base of the mountain. Enjoy one of more than 60 rooms, or you can upgrade and stay in a suite instead. You’ll find an iron, cable television and internet at this resort to make your time as relaxing as possible. Of course, you’ll still have to get to the resort. Just know it’s worth the drive for the adventures you can find there. There are plenty of rooms for everyone to relax in, it’s close to the slopes and there is always something going on for you to enjoy.

Out-of-State Maryland Ski Resorts

You don’t have to tell residents of the Old Line State about their state’s odd shape and geography. We’re also not going to pretend like there aren’t several resorts in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia that are every bit as close as the Wisp Resort. There’s Whitetail, Liberty Mountain, Timberline, Bryce, and Ski Shenandoah, just to name a few. We provide some information about these resorts, but we also have affiliate sites that provide more detailed information about the resorts in these states. At the same time, know that Maryland ski resorts are able to hold their own, just on the strength of the Wisp alone. This resort is its own tourist destination spot and provides plenty of state pride when it comes to offering a great all-around ski experience.
